"When I entered the water for a 2.4 mile swim at Ironman Texas I never suspected that I would have such pain in both shoulders. The pain got so bad that I was finally removed from the water after 2 hours, 15 minutes of swimming, and getting nowhere. So, the thought of swimming within a few weeks at a sprint triathlon did not fare well with me.

But, I was introduced to the Kinesio taping method by Pj Sullivan of Lubbock, Texas and found instant relief after it was applied the day before my event. During the event I swam without any pain and actually finished a minute faster than the year before. No question in my mind that Kinesio taping will be on my shoulders at all future events."

"After getting in a rut of less exercise and more hours at a desk, I was having neck/shoulder pain and tension. Pj knew right off where my tension points were and I had immediate relief after her expertise massage therapy and Kinesio Taping . I am sold on her massage techniques and training in Kinesio Taping!"

Kinesio Taping is a technique based on the body's own natural healing process. This Kinesio taping exhibits its efficacy through the activation of neurological and circulatory systems. This method basically stems from the science of Kinesiology, hence the name "Kinesio". Muscles are not only attributed to the movements of the body but also control the circulation of venous and lymph

Since the inception of the Kinesio Taping Method in 1973 there has been three commonly practiced taping techniques: prophylactic athletic taping, McConnell® Taping Technique and the Kinesio Taping Method. Each are appropriate when used properly for their intended purpose.

Prophylactic athletic taping is traditionally used to either assist or limit a movement by applying high tensil strength non-elastic white and elastic tape. It is used to protect acute injuries, prevent excess movement at a joint and protect a joint from further injury just to name a few. It is usually worn for a limited amount of time, can cause skin irritations due to latex and or rubber base adhesives and causes :ompression of tissues. It is very effective in limiting joint movement but has limited therapeutic purpose.

McConnell® Taping Technique, invented by Jenny McConnell an Australian Physiotherapist, is primarily a bracing or strapping purpose and has imited therapeutic function. There are two types of tape applied: a brown rigid tape is placed over a white cotton mesh tape. Is primarily used for orthopedic injuries such as patellofemoral dysfunction, shoulder subluxation, lumbar, foot and hip pain. It has a limited wear time of approximately 18 hours due to adverse skin reactions. It is widely accepted as an effective technique to provide an external brace or positional stimulus.

For the last 10 years, orthopedists, chiropractors, acupuncturists and other medical practitioners were the main users of Kinesio Taping. Soon thereafter, Kinesio Taping was used by the Japanese Olympic volleyball players and word quickly spread to other athletes. Today, Kinesio Taping is used by medical practitioners and athletes around the world.

I run because I can. I run early in the mornings because I like to see the sunrise and you don't see the same sunrise twice. I run in the rain, I run in the snow, I like to hear the sound of my feet in the snow. I run because I like to hear the birds singing to me. I run when I'm tired. I run when I'm sick. I run in windy days. I run on hot days. I run because I can and it makes me feel good, and I thank God that I can and for letting me run. None of my siblings run, so I run for all of them!

"I am a hair dresser of 49 years.
The Kinesio taping has kept me working with a torn right outside meniscus and actually helped the right meniscus heal on the inside of my knee. Plus, Kinesio taping has helped my lower back with sciatic discomfort.

It is truly hard to explain how Kinesio taping really does help you. Just, please, don't go with pain when there is some relief without a pill.
